Spoken production — practise speaking at length (French A2)
The sustained monologue is part 2 of the DELF A2 speaking paper: a topic drawn at random, ten minutes of preparation, about two minutes of speech. In the TCF IRN the closest task is the point of view, with no preparation. Speak or type, and the AI answers.
Pick a topic, speak or type: your answer is evaluated by an AI.

TCF IRN speaking lasts about 10 minutes and runs three tasks: the guided interview (3 minutes) where you talk with an examiner you have never met; the interaction task (3 min 30) where you obtain information in an everyday situation; and the point of view (3 min 30), where you must “speak spontaneously, continuously and convincingly”.
The detail that surprises people most: in the IRN version there is no preparation time at all, for any of the three tasks. You cannot learn a script — you need a few structures on autopilot and the ability to keep going. The skill gets a mark out of 20 converted into a level; A2 is 2–5/20.
In the DELF A2, spoken production is marked out of 25, with a 50/100 overall threshold and an eliminatory 5/25 floor per épreuve. The underlying skill is the same: hold a connected turn, without long silences, on an everyday topic.
How this practice works
Pick a topic, then record your answer — speech is transcribed — or type it if you would rather work on content first. You get an analysis of how well you met the instructions, of morphosyntax, vocabulary and coherence, the corrections explained, and a model answer on the same topic.
Free, no account, only a quick bot check. The evaluation is produced by an AI: it is neither an official mark nor an official level, and no pass verdict is computed.
Frequently asked questions — spoken production
How long is TCF IRN speaking?
About 10 minutes in total, split into three tasks: 3 minutes, 3 min 30 and 3 min 30.
Is there preparation time?
No — none, for any task, in the IRN version. That is an important difference from other TCF versions and from the DELF, and it is why regular practice matters more than memorising.
Is there a minimum score?
The TCF has no pass mark: the attestation states a level, and the receiving body — here the préfecture — sets the level it requires. For the DELF A2 you need 50/100 overall and at least 5/25 per épreuve.
Can I type instead of speaking?
Yes, and it helps at the start: writing the answer fixes the structures. But move to recording as soon as you can — the real test gives no preparation, so fluency has to be built out loud.
Does AI feedback replace an exam?
No. This is practice. The evaluation has no official value and we are not an examination centre.
